National Historical and Cultural Preserve Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra

In the Orthodox world there are only 5 Lavras. Kiev-Pechersk Lavra is the oldest of them. It is a world-famous place for Orthodox Christians pilgrimage.

National Museum of Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945

The Memorial Complex “National Museum of History of Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945” (over 10ha) dedicated to the heroic struggle against the Nazi invaders is situated on the picturesque slopes of the Dnipro River where once were the structures of the Kyiv fortress. The war memorial was festively opened on May 9, 1981.

St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Ca­thedral

St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Ca­thedral was laid in 1108 by Kyiv Prince Sviatopolk Iziaslavich (Christian name Michael), grandson of Yaroslav the Wise, in the centre of the princely St. Demetrius Monastery known from the 11th century.

St. Andrew’s Church

St. Andrew’s Church was laid on Andriyivska Hill in 1744 by order of Russian Empress Elizabeth, daughter of Peter the Great, after her visit to Kyiv.
